Fundraising Events

Fundraising events are what allow HJWL to function and enrich childrens lives. Through your involvement and donations at these events, you directly help the children of the Holland Area.

If you are interested in attending any of the events described below and have not received invitations in the past, please contact
us.

Preview Luncheon:
The Holland Junior Welfare League Preview Luncheon originated as a coffee/tea time held throughout the day on the Friday prior to the "Festival for the Children" event. This was an opportunity for guests to "preview" the gifts to be auctioned at the Black Tie event held on the following evening. Over the years, Preview Luncheon is a well attended event that has hosted over 200 women. It is held on the third Friday in November each year. The program consists of a meal, a brief program and a fashion show, and each year becomes more successful for our organization, as well as being one of the few fashion show luncheons organized in the Holland area. This event is attended by invitation. If you are interested in receiving an invitation, please Contact Us.

Gift Market: Support the children of Holland while shoping at our Annual Spring Craft show for fabulous gifts for mom, the new graduate, weddings and showers. You can treat yourself to a great day of fun and purchases.

Cookbook Sales: We are very proud of the work and commitment that our members from the past have put together to prodce two of the most beautiful cookbooks around. Eet Smakelijk has sold over 150,000 copies since 1964 and Dawn to Dusk cookbook offers incredible photographs. We also offer KinderBakker a children's cookbook.

Festival for the Children: HJWL hosts an annual gala event where area merchants donate decorated trees, holiday wares, artwork, and a plethora of other wonderful items to be auctioned. A formal occasion, Festival begins with the Chinese Auction, delicious fusion food, an evening of gaming, followed by the much awaited announcement of those lucky individuals who will take home their treasures. The evening culminates with music and dancing. We are hoping that we will have 200 patrons again this year. Festival is our biggest fundraiser and allows us to donate to many worthwhile causes in our community for children in need. It is held in November each year, so please join us!
